The first AI-managed restaurant has opened in China

The restaurant named "24 Seasons" has opened in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, becoming the first of its kind to use artificial intelligence and robotic technologies to manage all operations of the establishment, as reported by Kazinform citing local media.

The restaurant occupies two levels and represents a high-tech ecosystem. Robots perform thermal processing of food, prepare noodles and drinks, while mobile devices ensure the delivery of orders to tables and maintain order in the hall.

Tsai Haitan, the manager of the establishment, reported that eight robots currently perform over 60% of all operations. Human labor is minimized—five employees are solely responsible for processing payments and preparing ingredients.

A unique aspect of the project is the digitalization of the culinary process. The software of the robots integrates over a hundred recipes developed based on the analysis of actions by professional chefs. Artificial intelligence manages temperature and mixing processes, allowing for the achievement of original flavors in dishes.

The project, carried out by the local company Xialinghui, has not only commercial significance but also an important infrastructural function. The restaurant has become part of the social canteen system in the Xihu district, offering discounts of up to 50% for elderly people.

Municipality representatives emphasize that this establishment will serve as a testing ground for the development of the local robotics cluster. Data obtained during its operation will be used to improve technologies and expand the application of solutions in the field of public catering.
