





In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a police officer and his accomplice were detained for extorting money from a citizen in the context of a criminal case regarding "rape." This information was announced by the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR).
On January 17, 2026, GKNB KR employees, in cooperation with the SVR of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, detained T.A., a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, and district police officer A.E.B. from the Oktyabrsky district of Bishkek. They were caught red-handed while receiving 350,000 soms from Ch.M., who had filed a complaint regarding extortion (part 2, article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic).
According to the data collected in the framework of the criminal case, the extortion was carried out under the threat of accusing Ch.M. of a crime related to the rape of T.A. As a result, T.A. and police officer A.E. demanded the specified amount in exchange for a favorable decision on the case.
Based on the decision of the Lenin District Court of Bishkek, E.A. and T.A. were placed in the GKNB KR pre-trial detention center.
