The employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) have uncovered a case of extortion involving a senior investigator of the criminal investigation department of the Talas district police, known as T.R.Z.
According to the agency, this officer, abusing his official position, exerted psychological pressure on a citizen, T.N.T., for a long time, demanding money under the threat of criminal prosecution.
As a result of joint operational activities by the GKNB and the SVR of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, T.R.Z. was detained on February 21, 2026, while receiving part of the bribe amounting to 100,000 soms.
Currently, the detainee has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the Talas city police, where investigative actions are ongoing to identify other possible accomplices.
