A serious road traffic accident occurred in the Issyk-Kul region, resulting in the deaths of six people. This information was provided by the press service of the Main Department for Ensuring Road Safety to the Kabar agency.
According to preliminary information, the incident happened on March 27 at 15:00 on the Balykchy – Ananyevo – Karakol highway. The driver of a "Mercedes-Benz E420," traveling from west to east, attempted to avoid a collision with a "Volkswagen Passat," which was coming from the left side, and veered into the oncoming lane, where it collided with a "Renault Samsung SM6."
At the scene of the accident, the drivers of both vehicles – the "Mercedes-Benz E420" and the "Renault Samsung SM6" – were killed.
The department noted that information regarding the number of casualties and injured individuals is currently being clarified.
The incident has been registered with the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Issyk-Kul region. Expert examinations have been appointed, and investigative actions are underway.
The Ministry of Health informed the Kabar agency that 11 people were injured as a result of the accident. Six of them died, two received outpatient treatment, and three were hospitalized.
“One of the three patients in the hospital is a 2-year-old child, who will be transferred to the National Center for Maternal and Child Health in Bishkek. The other two patients are in serious condition in intensive care, have already undergone surgeries, and are both connected to ventilators,” the ministry added.
