According to witnesses, the incident took place on December 22 at the 553rd kilometer of the road in the village of Akman in the Bazar-Korgon district of the Jalal-Abad region. The accident involved a "Toyota Mark" and a "Mercedes-Benz Sprinter."
Witnesses noted that some of the injured were in serious condition.
“We saw how the driver of the ‘Toyota’ entered the oncoming lane, which led to the accident. The ‘Mercedes-Benz Sprinter’ overturned, and its front was severely damaged. The driver of the passenger car sustained a leg injury and was in critical condition. We called an ambulance, but it could not arrive, so the injured were taken to the hospital by passing transport,” they reported.
The chief physician of the Bazar-Korgon Center for General Medical Practice, Batyrbek Subankulov, reported on the condition of the injured:
“Three injured individuals were brought in after the accident. One of them was in serious condition and was placed in intensive care with a broken shin, a concussion, and other injuries. The other two remain under observation in the trauma department. The seriously injured patient is planned to be transferred to the city of Manas for surgery.”
The information was also confirmed by employees of the regional road safety department, who noted that an investigation is underway.
“The accident occurred at approximately 17:20. The driver of the ‘Toyota Mark’ from the Bazar-Korgon district was heading towards Bishkek and collided with the ‘Mercedes-Benz Sprinter,’ which was driven by a resident of the Noo-Ken district, born in 1989. As a result of the accident, the driver of the passenger car, as well as the driver and a passenger of the minibus, were taken to the hospital,” the official statement said.
