From December 2 to 11, a decade of legal support took place in Kyrgyzstan, dedicated to Human Rights Day. This was announced at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency by Akjol Kalbekov, the chairman of the Legal Aid Service under the Ministry of Justice.
As part of this initiative, consultation platforms operated in all regions of the country, where citizens could receive free legal consultations on various issues. Lawyers, attorneys, as well as representatives of local self-government and state officials participated in the event.
Special outreach consultations were also conducted in correctional institutions, where specialists explained legal issues and provided assistance to convicts and detainees.
"Special attention was paid to the protection of human rights and increasing legal literacy," he noted.
Aichurok Kamaeva, head of the Legal Aid and Legal Education Department, reported that as a result of the decade, 6,419 citizens took advantage of free legal consultations.
