At the 6th World Nomad Games, which will take place in Kyrgyzstan, the equestrian games kok-boru and kokpar will be presented as separate sports disciplines. This was announced by Kazibek Moldazhiyev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, at a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He noted that to prevent possible disagreements and to take into account the opinion of the neighboring country, the kok-boru competitions will be held according to Kyrgyz rules, while kokpar will be organized according to the rules of Kazakhstan. The program of the upcoming Games includes 43 types of competitions.
The organizers are counting on a record number of participants: invitations have been sent to 100 countries, and the tournament regulations have already been approved and distributed. For comparison, there were only 17 sports at the first Games. It is expected that the separation of equestrian disciplines will attract more spectators and strengthen international cooperation in promoting nomadic culture.
