At a press conference at the "Kabar" agency, the Director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, announced that kokpar will be included in the program of the VI World Nomad Games. He noted that equestrian sports hold a central place in these Games, attracting the most attention from spectators and the media.
Moldazhiyev emphasized: “We have decided to include kokpar in the program of the VI WNG, alongside kok-boru. We always emphasize that sports are outside of politics, and our goal is to promote ethnoculture and ethnosport. Our teams will also participate in the kokpar competitions.”
In addition, he added that the club format will not be used in kok-boru, and the competitions will retain their traditional format.
The head of the International Secretariat of the World Nomad Games, Nursultan Adenov, also announced the inclusion of national wrestling styles from the peoples of Yakutia and Buryatia in the program.
“Russia will present one of the largest delegations of participants, and they are actively interested in the Games,” he noted.
