Kazybek Moldazhiyev, head of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, recently visited Bishkek at the Republican Sports College named after Sheraly Sydykov, where he participated in the opening ceremony of the academic year.

During his visit, Moldazhiyev familiarized himself with the ongoing capital repairs and infrastructure updates of the educational institution. He inspected the training facilities, gymnasium, assembly hall, and medical offices. The head of the agency expressed hope that the college students would achieve high results in sports due to their diligence and wished them success in their future endeavors.

The Republican Sports College occupies an area of 7.6 hectares, which includes an academic building, cafeteria, two sports complexes, an indoor swimming pool, a gymnastics hall, wrestling rooms, two football fields, and two dormitories. The college trains athletes in disciplines such as Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling, women's wrestling, boxing, weightlifting and athletics, judo, and football.

The educational institution was founded in 1971 on the basis of a children's home and was initially named the Republican Sports Boarding School named after N. Krupskaya. In 2000, the college was renamed in honor of the famous athlete Sheraly Sydykov.
