Since the end of 2024, Azat Mirakhimov has been leading the national team of Kyrgyzstan in freestyle wrestling. In the past year, under his guidance, Ernazar Akmataliev won the title of Asian champion, while Orozobek Toktomambetov became a silver medalist. Additionally, at the World Championship, Bekzat Almaz uulu reached the finals, while Ernazar Akmataliev added a bronze medal to his collection.
Among the other candidates for this award were Nurbek Izabekov (women's wrestling), Ulukbek Karacholokov (Greco-Roman wrestling), Daniyar Tologon uulu (boxing), and Evgeny Petrashov (swimming).
