Omurbek Asan uulu won silver at the World Championship (U-23)

Athlete from Kyrgyzstan, Ömürbek Asan uulu, won second place at the World Youth Wrestling Championship, which is currently taking place in Serbia.

The competition among wrestlers aged 23 and under is being held in the city of Novi Sad.

Asan uulu competed in freestyle wrestling in the weight category up to 61 kg.

On his way to the finals, the Kyrgyzstani athlete secured four convincing victories over competitors from China, Bulgaria, Albania, and Turkey.

In the final match, his opponent was 19-year-old American Jackson Patrick Forrest, who had previously defeated Taiyrbek Jumashbek uulu in the quarterfinals at the senior World Championship in Croatia.

In a tense final bout, the American proved to be stronger once again, winning the gold medal, while Asan uulu took home the silver.
