The competition for wrestlers under 23 years old is being held in Novi Sad.
Asan uulu competed in the 61 kg category in freestyle wrestling.
He successfully progressed through four matches, achieving victories over opponents from China, Bulgaria, Albania, and Turkey, which allowed him to reach the finals.
In the decisive match for the gold medal, his opponent was 19-year-old American Jackson Patrick Forrest, who had previously defeated Kyrgyzstani Taiyrbek Jumashbek uulu in the quarterfinals at the adult championship in Croatia.
The final match was intense; however, Jackson proved to be stronger once again and won the gold, while Ömürbek Asan uulu received the silver medal.
