At the World Youth Wrestling Championship for athletes under 23, held in Novi Sad (Serbia), Kyrgyz wrestler Omurbek Asan uulu won a silver medal. This information was reported by Prosports.kz.

Omurbek competed in the weight category up to 61 kilograms and achieved four confident victories on his way to the finals:

1/16 finals: against Yongquan Luo (China) - 11:0

1/8 finals: against Erdal Shukri Galip (Bulgaria) - 12:0

1/4 finals: against Endrio Avdili (Albania) - 12:2

Semi-final: against Tolga Ozbek (Turkey) - 12:1

In the decisive match for gold, he faced 19-year-old wrestler from the USA, Jackson Patrick Forrest, who had previously defeated Kyrgyzstani Taiyrbek Jumashbek uulu at the senior World Championship in Croatia.

The final saw intense competition; however, Jackson emerged victorious, and Omurbek became the silver medalist, highlighting his high level of preparation and skill.

This achievement strengthens Kyrgyzstan's position on the international sports stage in youth wrestling and demonstrates the potential of the national wrestling school.
