On the first day of the tournament, five sets of medals were contested in the Olympic weight categories.
In the final of the 74 kg weight category, two outstanding wrestlers from the Kyrgyzstan national team faced off: the current Asian champion and bronze medalist of the World Championship Ernazar Akmataliev and multiple-time Asian champion among youth Orozobek Toktomambetov.
The key moment of the final match was a throw that earned Toktomambetov 4 points, which determined the outcome of the bout.
Thus, Toktomambetov won the title of champion of Kyrgyzstan and confirmed his status as the leader in this weight category for the next year.
