The Federation of Wrestling of Kyrgyzstan has announced that the country has submitted bids to host two world championships in wrestling, as reported by Sport АКИpress.

In early December, the president of UWW, Nenad Lalovic, visited Bishkek.

“We have received the right to host the Asian Championship for adults in 2026. Additionally, we have requested to host two world championships in 2027 — for athletes under 20 years old and for veterans,” the federation clarified.

According to information on the official UWW website, among the contenders for the world championship (U-20) in 2027 are Albania, Bulgaria, and Serbia. At the same time, Croatia and Mongolia are vying to host the veterans' world championship.

It is worth noting that Kyrgyzstan had already put forward its candidacy to host the world championship (U-20) in 2026, but this event was awarded to the USA.

Currently, Kyrgyzstan has not hosted world championships in wrestling in any age category.
