Almost the entire Kyrgyzstan boxing team was denied participation in the World Championship: visa issues

Almost the entire national boxing team of Kyrgyzstan faced difficulties that deprived them of the opportunity to participate in the World Championship taking place in the United Arab Emirates. This was reported by the relevant federation.

According to the provided information, 10 out of 13 athletes were unable to obtain visas.

Previously, the Boxing Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic officially announced 13 participants who were supposed to represent the country at the championship. All necessary documents for the visas were submitted to the IBA organizers, but the majority of athletes were denied visas. Only two boxers and their coach were able to travel to Dubai.

At the tournament, Kyrgyzstan will be represented by Omar Livaza in the weight category up to 63.5 kilograms and Almaz Orozbekov in the category up to 67 kilograms. The head coach of the team, Daniyar Tologon uulu, also flew to the UAE.

The World Boxing Championship, which will take place in 2025, starts today in the United Arab Emirates. The men's tournament will be held from December 2 to 13 in Dubai, with a total prize fund of 8 million dollars.

The winners in each weight category will receive 300 thousand dollars, silver medalists will get 150 thousand, and bronze medalists will earn 75 thousand. The fifth place will be rewarded with a sum of 10 thousand dollars.
