At the Asian Tug of War Championship held in Malaysia, the Kyrgyzstan team took second place, becoming the silver medalist in the weight category up to 860 kilograms. This was reported by Vladimir Letsky, president of the Republican Tug of War Federation.
The team from Kyrgyzstan faced seven opponents, among which the strongest were the athletes from Malaysia and India. In a tense battle, the Kyrgyz managed to defeat the Indian team.
According to Vladimir Letsky, the federation has been actively developing tug of war in the country for several years. Teams participate in both republican tournaments and international competitions.

“Interest in tug of war is growing among educational institutions, sports clubs, and enthusiasts of this sport,” he noted. “Currently, this sport is actively developing both in Bishkek and in other regions of the country, especially in Osh, Naryn, Talas, Batken, and Tash-Kumyr.”
In addition, Vladimir Letsky reported that the Tug of War Federation is preparing to participate in the World Cup, which will be held in Taiwan, as well as in the World Nomad Games, which will take place in Kyrgyzstan. The federation also participates annually in the Issyk-Kul Games of the CIS and SCO countries.
