The World Sambo Championship will be held for the second time in history in Bishkek. The Russian national team will participate in the competition, but under the neutral flag of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS-1). The Russian team is ready to compete in one of its strongest line-ups, as reported by TASS.

The event is scheduled for November 7 to 9. A total of 31 sets of medals will be contested for both men and women in the categories of sport and combat sambo. Competitions will also be held for men with visual impairments in the SVI-1 class, where blind athletes will compete (weight categories: up to 64, 79, and 98 kilograms). The debut of competitions among blind sambists and women's combat categories took place last year at the World Championship.

The prize pool for the tournament will amount to $341,000. All participants will have equal opportunities to win prizes: winners will receive $4,000 each, silver medalists will get $3,000 each, and bronze medalists will receive $2,000 each.
