The Bishkek City Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, in collaboration with the Mountaineering and Rock Climbing Federation of Bishkek, will hold the Open Championship of the capital in mountaineering from March 1 to 15, 2015.
The championship will take place in the Ak-Sai Glacier area (Ala-Archa Gorge).
The competitions are held with the aim of popularizing mountaineering and rock climbing in the city of Bishkek, improving sports skills, and identifying the strongest climbers in the capital and the republic.
Athletes from sports clubs, physical culture collectives, and commercial organizations in Bishkek, as well as teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan will participate in the championship.
Winners and prize-winners of the competitions will be determined based on the total points scored for the completed routes, as provided by the judging panel. The winners will be awarded diplomas and medals from the Bishkek City Sports Committee.
