The President also noted that out of the six medals won by Kyrgyzstan at the Olympic Games in Paris, five were earned in wrestling. This creates a solid foundation for future competitions, including the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Sadyr Japarov emphasized the importance of developing sports as one of the key tasks of state policy. Modern sports facilities are actively being built in the country, academies are being opened, and conditions are being created for mass sports and professional training.
The head of state expressed hope that with the support of UWW, world wrestling championships will be organized in Kyrgyzstan.
Nenad Lalovic, in turn, highly appreciated Kyrgyzstan's efforts to promote wrestling. He noted that more and more Kyrgyz athletes are demonstrating high results, drawing attention to their achievements.
Lalovic also emphasized the importance of improving sports infrastructure and preparing the country for hosting the World Nomad Games, where various types of wrestling will be represented.
Mohammed Al-Awamleh expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that the active development of sports in Kyrgyzstan is yielding significant results, strengthening the country's position on the international sports stage.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Sadyr Japarov awarded the leaders of United World Wrestling. Nenad Lalovic received the "Dostuk" order, while Mohammed Al-Awamleh received a Certificate of Honor from the Kyrgyz Republic for their significant contribution to the development of wrestling in the country and raising its status on the international stage. In response, Nenad Lalovic presented Sadyr Japarov with the UWW order.
