Sadyr Japarov held talks with the Prime Minister of Pakistan

Shahbaz Sharif extended a warm greeting to President Japarov, emphasizing the historical significance of his visit, which is the first in the last two decades.

The Prime Minister noted that the visit opens new horizons in Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations and highlights the mutual desire to strengthen strategic partnership. He highly appreciated Kyrgyzstan's achievements in the economic sphere under Japarov's leadership and emphasized the importance of joint efforts for the prosperity of both countries.

Sharif also noted that with the successful implementation of joint initiatives, the volume of mutual trade could reach 200 million dollars in the coming years.

Sadyr Japarov, for his part, emphasized that Kyrgyzstan views Pakistan as a fraternal state and a reliable partner, united by common cultural, historical, and spiritual values. He expressed a desire to improve political dialogue, activate delegation exchanges, and expand cooperation in the region.

The President expressed confidence that the negotiations held would yield fruitful results and provide a strong impetus for further development of bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail issues of joint development of transport infrastructure, focusing on railway projects such as the construction of the "China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan" highway, which will enhance the region's transit capabilities.

Additionally, there was a noted desire to expand cooperation in utilizing the Pakistani seaports of Karachi and Gwadar, which will create new opportunities for Kyrgyzstan to access international markets.

The implementation of the regional energy project CASA-1000 was also discussed, which has strategic significance for ensuring energy security and integrating the infrastructure of Central and South Asia.
