On November 27 at 17:40, Japan's Foreign Minister, Mr. Motegi Toshimitsu, had a conversation lasting about 20 minutes with the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, Mr. Gankhuyag Khasuur, who is in Japan at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the beginning of the meeting, Motegi expressed his pleasure regarding Gankhuyag's visit and emphasized the importance of promoting the development of bilateral cooperation, as well as joint efforts to address global issues to achieve the goals of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific," designating Mongolia as "a special strategic partner for peace and prosperity."

In response, Deputy Prime Minister Gankhuyag confirmed the readiness to deepen relations with Japan, emphasizing that the visit of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress to Mongolia is of great significance for bilateral ties.


Additionally, Minister Motegi noted the successful completion of the 12th meeting of the Joint Committee of the Governments and Business Circles of Japan and Mongolia.

The discussions confirmed the necessity of deepening cooperation in political and economic spheres based on the bilateral Action Plan.

Regarding Chinggis Khaan International Airport, which symbolizes bilateral cooperation and improves air connectivity, Minister Motegi assured that Japan will continue to support the project for its expansion. Deputy Prime Minister Gankhuyag expressed gratitude for this.

The parties also discussed issues of cooperation on international and regional platforms.
