On November 27, 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, Gankhuyag Khassuur, held a meeting with Japan's Minister of Emergency Management, Akama Jiro, during his working visit to the Land of the Rising Sun.

During the meeting, Gankhuyag emphasized that the relations between Mongolia and Japan are becoming increasingly close and are developing in many directions.

Gankhuyag also expressed the intention to deepen cooperation in the field of disaster management and emergency situations, including the preparation of a joint document between the relevant organizations of the two countries aimed at enhancing the capacity of Mongolian specialists in responding to such situations and studying Japanese experience in this area.

Moreover, he emphasized the significance of projects such as the establishment of a mechanized warehouse for storing emergency food supplies and materials in case of disasters, as well as the project for creating a state reserve terminal for petroleum products in Ulaanbaatar, and appealed for support for these initiatives.

Akama Jiro highlighted that the global problem of natural disasters requires serious attention and stressed the importance of cooperation with Mongolia, both at the bilateral level and within regional and international initiatives.
