Kyrgyzstan joined the Samarkand Declaration and the Action Plan for Regional Cooperation for 2026–2032

In Uzbekistan, in Samarkand, the Deputy Minister of Ecology Almaz Musaev participated in the signing of an important document — the Samarkand Declaration and the Action Plan for Regional Cooperation for 2026-2032, aimed at supporting the sustainable use of wildlife resources and combating illegal trade in wild animals and plants.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Ecology, this document was signed by representatives of five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan as part of the 20th Conference of the Parties to the CITES Convention.

During the COP 20 CITES event, which took place on November 24, Almaz Musaev also participated in a meeting organized by the international organization TRAFFIC, where he shared Kyrgyzstan's achievements in implementing the provisions of the CITES Convention.

Kyrgyzstan expressed its desire to continue deepening cooperation, including in the development of digital tools for monitoring and enhancing measures against illegal trade.

Additionally, during the conference, the Deputy Minister held meetings with the environmental ministers of Central Asia, the Secretary-General of the CITES Convention, and the Director-General of TRAFFIC. The participants discussed ways to strengthen regional cooperation mechanisms, implement joint projects, and further develop conservation initiatives in the region.
