In addition to Kyrgyzstan, the board also includes Malaysia (167 votes), India (163 votes), China (162 votes), Thailand (161 votes), and Japan (159 votes), with Kyrgyzstan receiving 163 votes.
Kyrgyzstan previously held a seat in this body from 2019 to 2023. From 2012 to 2016, the country was part of the Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, and from 2017 to 2021, it represented interests in the UNESCO World Heritage Committee and the Intergovernmental Council of the International Program for the Development of Communication.
