At the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, a resolution was unanimously adopted proclaiming September 22 as the "International Day of Nomadic Heritage," which was the result of an initiative by the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, along with the Secretariat of the National Commission for UNESCO and the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, actively worked to promote this idea.
The goal of the resolution is to emphasize the unique contribution of nomadic peoples to the development of world civilization, to foster intercultural dialogue, and to support the principles of sustainable development.
Kyrgyzstan, which initiated the World Nomad Games, continues to actively participate in the preservation and promotion of nomadic cultural heritage.
