In Kyrgyzstan, there are 21 theaters and 68 museums - data on culture published

The Day of Culture Workers, established by a government decree in 1995, was celebrated in Kyrgyzstan. This holiday emphasizes the preservation and development of the cultural heritage of the republic.

According to information from the National Statistical Committee, there are 21 professional theaters operating in the country. Of these, 10 are located in Bishkek, three in Osh, two in the Jalal-Abad region, and one each in the Batken, Issyk-Kul, Osh, and Talas regions.

In 2024, theatrical groups presented 1,973 performances and shows, among which the Russian Drama Theater named after Chinghiz Aitmatov and the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater named after Toktogul Satylganov were the most popular.

The film industry also demonstrated a growth in viewer interest. There are 42 cinemas operating in the republic, which held over 232,000 screenings last year, attracting more than 3 million viewers. The largest number of cinemas is concentrated in Bishkek and the Chui region.

In 2024, six concert organizations operated in Kyrgyzstan, including three philharmonics. Over the year, musicians and groups held 218 concerts, with the performances of the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after Toktogul Satylganov having the highest attendance.

Additionally, there are 68 museums in the country, housing about 238,000 exhibits. There are also 720 clubs, more than 90 percent of which are located in rural areas, and 49 parks for culture and recreation, 16 of which are in Bishkek and the Jalal-Abad region.
