The State National Russian Drama Theater named after Chinghiz Aitmatov will temporarily suspend its renovation works, as reported by theater representatives.
The reason for this decision is the holding of the Days of Russian Culture in Kyrgyzstan, which will take place in Bishkek from October 29 to November 2, 2025.
As part of this event, performances of "12" and "The Tale of Lost Time" will be staged at the theater – productions from the "Workshop '12'" of Nikita Mikhalkov, which will provide the audience with a unique atmosphere of live theater and art.
"During the renovation, we prefer the magic of theatrical art," the theater stated, adding that the official opening of the 91st theater season is scheduled for the end of November.
