"Brides" in Bishkek
On November 10, the premiere of the play "The Suitors" by the Moscow Independent Theater will take place at the Chingiz Aitmatov Russian Drama Theater. The director of the play is People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Steklov. The Russian troupe of actors was invited to Bishkek by the event organization center "Art Face," which allows Kyrgyz theatergoers to see their favorite Russian actors live on our stage.
"Marriage" is one of the funniest plays by Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol. With a simple plot about how four rather battered suitors court the merchant's daughter Agafya Tikhonovna, Gogol transforms it into a phantasmagorical panorama of Russian reality, where sharp social satire mixes with grotesque elements, and the characters crafted by the author are colorful and distinct from one another.
The main character of the play is the merchant's daughter Agafya Tikhonovna, for whom the matchmaker Fekla Ivanovna is looking for a suitor. Agafya Tikhonovna spends her days at home, bored and dreaming of her "chosen one." And so, with the help of the matchmaker, the suitors come to her: the titular adviser Podkolesin, the executor Yaiichnitsa, the retired infantry officer Anuchkin, and the seasoned sailor Zhevakkin...
One of the main roles in the play will be played by Russian actor Denis Rozhkov, known to television viewers from the series "Glukhari," in which he played a secondary lead role.
