On December 13, the Kyrgyz State Opera and Ballet Theater will present the opera 'Eugene Onegin', dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer P. I. Tchaikovsky.

'Eugene Onegin' is one of the most beloved Russian operas among our people. This is not only because this work combines the genius of A.S. Pushkin and P.I. Tchaikovsky, but primarily due to the truthfulness, sincerity, and emotional depth of the music. Tchaikovsky drew from Pushkin's novel elements that were connected to the inner world and personal fates of the characters. The created images of Tatiana, Lensky, and Onegin, thanks to their emotionality and sincerity of the best universal human traits, are especially close and understandable to audiences of all times and eras. The opera 'Eugene Onegin' has toured all the stages of the world.

The current performance of this outstanding work will feature soloist Pavel Chernykh from the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, a laureate of an international competition and a Honored Artist of Russia, who will perform the role of Gremin. Joining him will be the best soloists of the Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theater: international competition laureate Zaira Raimbekova (Tatiana), Asel Bekbaeva (Olga), Nurzhigit Asanov (Onegin), and international competition laureate Sayan Isin (Lensky).

Reference: Pavel Chernykh graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. I. Tchaikovsky in 1987 in the class of Evgeny Nesterenko. He was admitted to the trainee group of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia in 1988 and became a soloist of the opera troupe in 1990.
He is a laureate of the II prize at the International Competition for Vocal Students named after Antonin Dvořák in Karlovy Vary (Czechoslovakia, 1987), and a recipient of a special prize from Czechoslovak Radio for the best performance of a vocal cycle by contemporary composers.
Pavel Chernykh's repertoire includes many roles from the world opera classics: Valentin ('Faust'), Yeletskiy, Tomsky ('The Queen of Spades'), Giorgio Germont ('La Traviata'), Nabucco ('Nabucco'), Mizgir ('The Snow Maiden'), Scarpia ('Tosca'), Amonasro ('Aida'), Robert ('Iolanta'), Silvio ('Pagliacci'), and others.
