Kyrgyz products are once again attracting attention not only within the country but also beyond its borders. Felt products, such as ala-kiyiz and shyrdak, hold an important place in the daily life of the nomadic people. These carpets not only beautify the home but also provide warmth, and their patterns reflect the beauty of nature and the centuries-old philosophy of the Kyrgyz people.

The contribution of the craftswomen to the preservation and development of this art is immense: it is thanks to them that ancient traditions have not lost their relevance and are passed down from generation to generation.

In 2012, the Kyrgyz shyrdak and ala-kiyiz were included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage, after which interest in them significantly increased. This craft is actively developing throughout the country, including in the At-Bashinsky district.

Jazgul Keldibekova, a renowned craftswoman from the village of Acha-Kaiyndy, is distinguished by her unique style and a keen sense of color. In 2014, she received the Grand Prix at the festival "Kylım Karytkan Kyrgyz Shyrdak" ("Centennial Kyrgyz Shyrdak"). Her products are becoming increasingly popular among foreign tourists, and she herself inspires young people to take an interest in national culture.

"Since 2011, I have been making shyrdaks. This is not just a craft, but a part of my life, a work that I love. I create each pattern myself—I strive for it to be unique, so that each product has its own soul. Recently, interest in Kyrgyz products has been growing. Therefore, together with six women from our village, we created the group 'Zhas Uuzdar' ('Young Craftswomen'). I am always ready to share my experience, conduct master classes, and help young women who want to master this art," says Jazgul Keldibekova.

According to her, preserving and developing the national craft is a sacred duty to future generations. "If every Kyrgyz girl learns at least the basics of this art, it will not only be preserved but will also thrive. After all, in our hands lies the soul of the people," says the craftswoman.
