Handmade artisans participate in international exhibitions and receive orders from various countries. The handmade masters from Kyrgyzstan strive to conquer the global market. They presented a collection of felt Christmas ornaments in Bishkek.
The balls, angel figures, and animals are made only from natural materials. They are unbreakable and will last a long time. Each toy has its own character. To "bring to life" the decoration, dozens of tailors, designers, and embroiderers work on it.
“Very cute face. If a person is frowning while making it, the toy turns out the same way. When we prepare the toys, we put all our love into them. Usually, mine are the most beautiful because I work with love,” said felt craftsman Adiza Abdymunova.
The artisans even have their own motto: “Kyrgyz Christmas decorations should bring warmth to all the inhabitants of the world.” To become known on a global scale, they have everything necessary: these toys are unlike anything else, handmade, and made from natural materials. A child can crush them in their palm, and they won’t get damaged. With proper care, the toys will last for many years.
The owners of the art salon do everything to ensure that Kyrgyzstan is associated not only with felt hats or slippers. Initially, the soft decorations were sewn for embassies. Now, the masters participate in all major handmade exhibitions worldwide. Custom-made New Year toys are sent abroad by the hundreds.
“We could just stay in one place. But we want to move forward so that our felt and toys are seen everywhere, and Kyrgyzstan is recognized by our products. We show our country in the best light and strive to do everything with quality,” noted the administrator of the art salon, Reina Akylbekova.
The company has large orders from several European countries. Smaller workshops are not lagging behind. The craftsmen's association has long proposed to make felt products a brand of the country. The ancient technologies of felt production in Kyrgyzstan have practically not changed to this day, being passed down from generation to generation.
