Kyrgyz Republic joined the Samarkand Declaration on the conservation of wildlife in Central Asia
Kyrgyz Republic has become part of the Samarkand Declaration and the Action Plan covering the period from 2026 to 2032. This document aims at the sustainable use of resources of wild flora and fauna, as well as combating illegal trade in wild animals and plants. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The signing of the document took place during the 20th Conference of the Parties to the CITES Convention, where representatives from five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, put their signatures.

The Ministry of Natural Resources emphasized that the signed declaration creates new opportunities for coordinating joint actions, sharing information, and uniting efforts to protect rare species and sustainably manage natural resources in the Central Asian region.

At the COP20 CITES conference, the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, Almaz Musaev, presented the country’s achievements in implementing the provisions of the CITES Convention. Kyrgyzstan expressed its readiness for further cooperation, including the development of digital tools for monitoring and strengthening measures to combat illegal trade.
