Emomali Rahmon met with the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry

During the meeting, issues related to strengthening the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and China were discussed.

Rahmon emphasized that China occupies an important place in Tajikistan's economic and investment relations, noting the need to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. He also mentioned the outcomes of his recent meetings with the President of China, Xi Jinping.

Wang Yi, in turn, noted the significant achievements of Tajikistan, highlighting the progress in the country's development. "As the founder of your state, you have invested your soul into its development and prioritized the people. We highly value your concept of state governance," the minister remarked. During the conversation, Tajikistan's support for new initiatives from China, including the ideas of "Global Governance," was confirmed. The effectiveness of cooperation in political, trade, cultural, and other areas was also noted.

According to data, in the first ten months of 2025, trade volume between the countries exceeded two billion dollars. Bilateral economic cooperation covers key sectors such as mining, transportation, energy, and agriculture. The parties expressed their intention to develop cooperation in the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and the implementation of environmentally friendly technologies, as well as to increase the export of agricultural products from Tajikistan to China. Security issues were also discussed, including joint efforts to combat terrorism, extremism, and other forms of organized crime.

The positive dynamics of cultural and humanitarian ties were also noted. Rahmon expressed gratitude to China for providing quotas for Tajik students and expressed interest in increasing their number for training in in-demand specialties. The meeting also discussed cooperation within international organizations, such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the development of interaction in the "Central Asia – China" format.

The President of Tajikistan thanked the Chinese delegation for their support in establishing the SCO Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe.
