During the forum, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Agency for Investment and Trade discussed the current economic climate in Mongolia. Forum participants examined the prospects for cooperation in sectors such as mining, agriculture, education, tourism, and pharmaceuticals.

The trade turnover between the countries has significantly increased in recent years, reaching $51.1 million in 2024 and $36.11 million in the first half of 2025. Mongolia exports products like fluorite and wool yarn to Indonesia, while importing mining equipment, food products, palm oil, and pharmaceuticals. Officials noted the emerging opportunities for further development.

President of the MNTPP Lkhagvajav Baatarjav emphasized that "our countries have maintained friendly relations for 69 years and are actively developing cooperation in various fields." He highlighted the strategic position of both countries and their economic potential. "We can expand cooperation in areas such as halal meat production, machine engineering, and tourism," he added.

Diplomat Jauhari Oratmangun, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Mongolia, expressed hope that the forum would serve as an important platform for strengthening ties between the business communities. He noted the growing interest of Indonesians in Mongolia, which he believes should lead to an increase in the number of tourists. The new direct flight between Mongolia and Singapore will also help in this regard, as Singapore is only an hour's flight from Indonesia. "Indonesia is interested in importing halal meat from Mongolia and is considering exporting pharmaceutical products," he added.

General Secretary of the MNTPP Saruul Bulgan presented possible ways to expand economic cooperation. She noted that next year will mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Indonesia, which is an excellent reason to deepen ties. More than 20 representatives of Indonesian businesses, including major companies, arrived in Mongolia to discuss new opportunities for trade partnerships.

She emphasized that there are many opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. In particular, ways to increase the export of halal meat were discussed, as well as the importance of adhering to certification standards. Mongolia has also shown interest in cooperation in the field of mineral exploration and green energy. Currently, Mongolia exports products worth about $300,000 to Indonesia, while imports amount to $51 million, including heavy machinery and pharmaceuticals. The opening of the Mongolian embassy in Jakarta and the appointment of Ambassador Enkhtaiwan Dashnyam last year were important steps in strengthening diplomatic relations and joint business activities between the two countries.
