Erbol Sultanbaev, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Belarus, shared with the state information agency "BelTA" about the current state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

According to him, in recent years there has been a positive trend in trade and economic relations. In 2022, the trade turnover amounted to approximately $133 million.

At the 12th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation, the parties agreed on the need to take measures to increase mutual trade turnover to $500 million over the next five years.

“Currently, both sides have begun implementing concrete steps to achieve this goal. A key element in this direction is strengthening direct ties between the business communities of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus. An important step was the holding of the Kyrgyz-Belarusian business forum in Minsk in June of this year as part of the "Belagro" exhibition,” the ambassador emphasized.

Among the positive examples of economic cooperation, Erbol Sultanbaev highlighted the joint production of elevator equipment by the companies "Kyrgyz Unaa Kurulush" and "Mogilevliftmash," as well as the collaboration of the Kyrgyz Transformer Plant with the Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V.I. Kozlov, which led to the joint production of transformers for Kyrgyzstan.

Additionally, the company "Avtomash-Radiator," which has been supplying radiators for cars and tractors to Belarus since 2008, is also the official representative of Belarusian agricultural machinery manufacturers in Kyrgyzstan.

The ambassador positively assessed the launch of a pilot project for the installation of rotary car parking systems by OJSC "Mogilevliftmash."

In the processing industry, an important example of cooperation was the project for the construction of a waste processing plant in Karakol, implemented by the Belarusian company "Sifaniya Ekotekhnika" in partnership with the local municipal enterprise "Tazalyk." Currently, work is underway on a similar project in Bishkek.
