The two-day business forum of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) has started in Bishkek. This event is organized for the first time after nearly a 15-year hiatus, as noted by the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Sydykov.

He also emphasized that the forum is taking place in the year when Kyrgyzstan holds the chairmanship in the CAREC program and precedes the 24th Ministerial Conference scheduled for November 20.

“We are in an era of significant changes in global supply chains, which underscores the growing importance of multimodal routes and Central Asia as a strategic space between the largest global markets. In the face of new challenges—infrastructure, technological, environmental, and logistical—CAREC countries are also opening new opportunities for investment, integration, and the development of interregional trade. Therefore, the CAREC business forum plays a crucial role by providing a platform for B2B and B2G interactions,” noted Bakyt Sydykov.

Additionally, the minister added that Kyrgyzstan, as the chairing country of CAREC and an active participant, will continue to promote initiatives aimed at improving connectivity, resilience, digitalization, and the investment attractiveness of the region.

Leaders from the private sector, government representatives, international financial organizations, and innovative companies from CAREC countries gathered at the business forum. Over 200 participants represent key sectors of the economy, including logistics, digital trade, fintech, agrotechnologies, green energy, and sustainable tourism.
