At a meeting held by the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Sydykov, issues related to prices for socially significant goods were discussed with major local suppliers. The meeting also gathered representatives from tax services from all four districts of Bishkek, as reported by the ministry's press service.

The minister emphasized the importance of social responsibility in business and called for a review of pricing policies.

“We are actively engaging with major hypermarkets and markets in the capital. There is an understanding on their part and certain achievements in reducing prices. Considering the entire supply chain, it is necessary to reassess pricing proposals. Our task is to act in the interests of citizens. We do not require you to operate at a loss, but rather to adopt a reasonable approach to price formation,” noted Sydykov.

He also added that the Antimonopoly Regulation Service has intensified its control measures: over the past two days, more than 30 fines have been imposed.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, together with the antimonopoly service, will continue to monitor prices to ensure stability in the consumer market and protect citizens' rights.
