In Kyrgyzstan, there are plans to tighten the regulations regarding the issuance of certificates for halal products. Almaz Kairbekov, the director of the Halal Industry Development Center under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, announced this during a broadcast on "Birinchi Radio."

He noted that an increase in the requirements for the accreditation of organizations involved in halal product certification is expected. The main goal of these changes is to align the standards with international norms and eliminate from the market products that do not meet the established requirements.

Additionally, Kairbekov emphasized that certain components, such as gelatin and food colorings, will be subjected to laboratory testing to confirm their origin.

“This concerns not only religious aspects but also represents a significant economic resource. The halal industry is a multi-billion dollar market, and Kyrgyzstan must actively develop this segment,” he added.
