Bakyt Sydykov, the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, organized a meeting with representatives of major domestic suppliers of socially significant goods.
Employees of the tax service from all four districts of Bishkek also attended the meeting.
In his address to the participants, the minister emphasized the importance of lowering prices on goods that have social significance.
“We are actively engaging with major hypermarkets and markets in the capital. We already have an understanding from their side and the first results in lowering prices. However, considering the entire supply chain, it is necessary to review the current pricing proposals. We are acting in the interests of the population. We do not demand losses from you – we only ask for a reasonable approach. At the same time, the Antimonopoly Regulation Service under our ministry has intensified monitoring of the situation: just in the last two days, more than 30 fines have been imposed,” the minister added.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, together with the Antimonopoly Regulation Service, will continue to monitor the pricing situation to ensure stability in the consumer market and protect the interests of citizens.
