The stele is located in Kyrgyzstan, in the Koshmolo area of the Tört-Gül ayil district, situated in the Batken region.
Currently, a protective fence has been installed around the stele, with gates from each of the three countries on each side. The landscaping of the area includes the planting of saplings of juniper and other trees, and a water supply has also been organized.
On March 31, 2025, the presidents of the three countries — Sadyr Japarov (Kyrgyzstan), Shavkat Mirziyoyev (Uzbekistan), and Emomali Rahmon (Tajikistan) — solemnly inaugurated the Friendship Stele at the intersection of their borders.
The ceremony was held online with the participation of the heads of state from Khujand (Tajikistan).
The red ribbon was cut in honor of the opening by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev, as well as the deputy heads of the governments of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan — Achilbay Ramatov and Ziyozoda Sulaymon Rizo, respectively.

The leaders of the mentioned countries held a meeting in Khujand, discussing the prospects for further strengthening friendly relations, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership, as well as expanding cooperation in trade, economic, and cultural spheres.
During the event, the presidents also attended a joint concert of artists.
