
During the meeting, key areas of cooperation were discussed, covering economy, transport, energy, and culture.
President Tokayev emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties. "Uzbekistan is a fraternal nation and a reliable neighbor for us. Historically, our peoples are connected by strong bonds, and we share similar spiritual values," he noted.
One of the main goals is to increase mutual trade turnover to $10 billion by 2030, which was formalized in a program signed on March 15 of this year. To implement this, a Council of Regional Leaders will be established, and the Business Council and the joint company UzKazTrade will continue their work.
Currently, 78 joint projects are being implemented with a total value of over $1.7 billion, which will lead to the creation of more than 15,000 new jobs.
Tokayev also proposed moving towards the establishment of complete production chains in sectors such as meat processing, grain, and oilseed crops, as well as in the development of livestock and organic agriculture.
Significant attention is being paid to the construction of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia," which is expected to promote the industrial potential of the region. Cooperation in the extraction and processing of rare earth metals has been identified as a promising direction.
The President of Kazakhstan emphasized the importance of transport cooperation. The countries are working on optimizing tariffs, simplifying administrative procedures, developing border infrastructure, and modernizing checkpoints.
Tokayev invited the Uzbek side to cooperate in the ports of Aktau and Kuryk for the joint development of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor. Joint projects within the North-South corridor and on railway routes through Afghanistan are also being discussed.
Effective use of water resources from transboundary rivers is an important aspect for both countries. Tokayev proposed that the governments develop joint measures to harmonize water management policies.
Kazakhstan is actively implementing digital technologies: the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Alem.ai has recently opened, a Research University is being established, and a national supercomputer is being launched. "I set the task of turning Kazakhstan into a digital country," Tokayev stated.
The President invited Uzbek companies to cooperate in the IT sector, noting the successful interaction between Astana Hub and IT Park Uzbekistan.
Cultural and humanitarian ties continue to develop: cross-cultural days are held, monuments to outstanding figures are unveiled, and branches of universities are created in both countries.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted the significance of the Supreme Intergovernmental Council, emphasizing: "Our relations have reached a high level of strategic partnership and alliance, based on trust and friendship between our peoples. In modern conditions, active interaction is important to minimize the negative impact of the economic situation on our countries and the region as a whole."
Tokayev expressed hope that the agreements reached will contribute to further deepening the partnership for the welfare of the peoples of both countries.
