Sadyr Japarov met with the leaders of UWW and UWW Asia

On December 6, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, held a meeting with Nenad Lalovic, the President of United World Wrestling (UWW), and Mohammed Al-Awamleh, the President of UWW Asia.

During the greeting of the guests, the head of state emphasized their significant contribution to the progress of sports wrestling and expressed hope for further development of this sport on the international stage under their leadership.

The President noted that the names of athletes such as Akjol Mahmudov, Zholaman Sharshenbekov, Ernazar Akmataliev, Aisuluu Tynibekova, Meerim Jumanzarova, and Aiperi Medet kyzy have become known not only in Kyrgyzstan but also beyond its borders, among wrestling enthusiasts worldwide.

Additionally, he reminded that out of the six medals won by Kyrgyzstan at the Olympic Games in Paris, five were obtained in wrestling, which creates a solid foundation for upcoming competitions, including the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Sadyr Japarov emphasized that the development of sports is one of the most important directions of state policy. Modern sports facilities are actively being built in the country, new academies are being opened, and conditions are being created for both mass and professional sports.

The President expressed confidence that with UWW's support, world wrestling championships will be held in Kyrgyzstan.

Nenad Lalovic, for his part, noted Kyrgyzstan's efforts to promote wrestling, emphasizing that more and more Kyrgyz athletes are demonstrating outstanding results, attracting attention to their achievements.

He also highlighted the development of sports infrastructure and Kyrgyzstan's preparation for hosting the World Nomad Games, where various types of wrestling will be presented.

Mohammed Al-Awamleh expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of the UWW delegation and noted that the active development of sports in the country is yielding significant results, strengthening Kyrgyzstan's position on the international stage.

Concluding the meeting, President Sadyr Japarov awarded Nenad Lalovic with the Order of "Dostuk," and Mohammed Al-Awamleh with a Certificate of Honor of the Kyrgyz Republic for their significant contribution to the development of wrestling in the country and raising its status on the international stage. Nenad Lalovic, in turn, presented Sadyr Japarov with the UWW Order.
