"Only one problem remains — vote buying": What else did Sadyr Japarov say after the voting in the elections?
Japarov noted that the current elections are unique due to the complete automation of the voting system, which eliminates the human factor. “Previously, ballots were physically printed, and spare ballots were left at each polling station for certain candidates. This no longer happens. Ballots are issued based on the fact of the voter's arrival, and the counting of votes is done by a computer, which will summarize the results at the end of the day,” he explained. The President emphasized that this measure was taken because the previous three coups in the country were related to the consequences of elections, both presidential and parliamentary.
He also expressed confidence that voter turnout in these elections will be higher due to the introduction of remote voting. For example, voters who come to Bishkek from areas such as Alay, Ala-Buka, Chatkal, or At-Bashy will be able to vote at markets, where polling stations are also open. “I spent only 5 minutes voting: I entered, received my ballot, voted, and left. Therefore, I urge everyone to actively participate in the elections,” the president added.
Sadyr Japarov also stated his intention to create even more favorable conditions for future elections to eliminate the human factor and avoid scandals. However, he pointed out the problem of vote buying, both from voters and candidates. “Not all voters are ready to sell their votes; many live well and are not interested in money. However, there are cases where entire streets or family clans sell their votes. We are documenting these cases, and currently, about 10 such incidents are under investigation,” he noted.
In addition, the president reminded that about 100 polling stations are open abroad. “We still have time until the evening, so I urge everyone to actively participate in the elections. Every vote matters for the fate of our state. Forget the old thoughts that your vote won’t make a difference. Have confidence that your vote can change the future of Kyrgyzstan!” he addressed the voters.
