The process of forming national teams for participation in the World Nomad Games is actively underway in Kyrgyzstan. As reported by Ulukbek Omurbekov, the director of the Directorate for National Sports of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, on the air of Birinchi Radio, qualifying competitions are being held in various traditional types of Kyrgyz games as part of the preparation.
One of the significant events was the national championship in Kyrgyz Kuresh, which brought together athletes from all seven regions. Based on the results of this championship, the strongest wrestlers in three weight categories were determined.
“We have selected the best athletes who will be able to represent Kyrgyzstan with dignity at the Games of Nomads,” noted Omurbekov.
In addition, he added that competitions in Alysh Belboo Kuresh, another traditional martial art, will take place on December 7 and 8. The results of these competitions will help form the next group of athletes for the national team that will represent the country on the international stage.
