Moldazhiyev presented statistics from previous games. According to him, in 2014, when the first Nomad Games were held, 19 countries participated. In 2016, this number increased to 62, then in 2018 it reached 82 countries, and in 2022 — 79 countries. In 2024, participation is expected from 89 countries.
“The growth in the number of participating countries and athletes indicates a growing interest in the World Nomad Games. In 2014, only 771 people participated in the event, while in 2024 their number will increase to 2,500,” he noted.
The director of the State Agency also mentioned the sports disciplines that will be included in the program of the VI WNG. Currently, 43 types of national and traditional sports have been announced.
“Participating countries are showing great interest in the World Nomad Games. We have received numerous applications for the inclusion of additional games from the peoples of the world,” Moldazhiyev added.
The opening ceremony of the VI WNG will take place on August 31 at the under-construction "Bishkek Arena" stadium, which accommodates 51,000 spectators, coinciding with the anniversary summit of the SCO. The closing of the games will be held on the shores of Issyk-Kul.
