An analysis conducted in Bishkek showed that 70% of accidents involving buses occur due to the fault of other road users. This information was presented by the chief engineer of the bus fleet No. 2 of the municipal enterprise "Bishkek City Transport," Arthur Omurzakov, on the air of "Birinchi Radio."

According to Omurzakov, among the culprits of traffic accidents, drivers of passenger cars and other individuals are most frequently encountered.

“Our city has five bus fleets, employing 2,660 drivers. Among them, there are both responsible and less conscientious individuals. Road situations can vary, and the bus is not the only participant in traffic. In 2025, our management organized 18 meetings with representatives of the Traffic Safety Department of Bishkek, discussing the need to adhere to traffic rules,” noted the chief engineer.

He also added that drivers who are at fault in accidents lose their bonuses and are required to independently repair the damaged municipal buses.

“If an employee does not have sufficient funds for the repairs, they can submit a request for partial salary withholding. In such cases, a defect report is drawn up, and the process of restoring the bus begins,” clarified Omurzakov.
