On the air of Birinchi Radio, the chief engineer of bus fleet No. 2, Arthur Omurzakov, shared information about the situation with drivers and the operation of the bus fleets of the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek City Transport." According to him, there are five bus fleets operating in Bishkek, covering various areas of the city, with a total of 2,660 drivers. He noted that there is a variety on the roads: among the drivers, there are both responsible ones and those who do not follow the rules.
“Since 2025, more than 18 general meetings have been organized with the participation of the Patrol Service of the Bishkek City Police. At one of the meetings, even the head of the republican traffic police was present, where issues of traffic rule compliance were discussed,” Omurzakov said.
He also added that most traffic accidents involving buses are not caused by their drivers. “We conducted an analysis and found that about 70% of such accidents are related to the actions of other road users, mainly drivers of passenger cars,” he specified.
Arthur Omurzakov emphasized that there is ongoing monitoring of the work of drivers and the technical condition of buses, as well as joint inspections with the Patrol Service of Bishkek City, which oversee the condition of the bus fleets and the technical state of the buses.
