In the Issyk-Kul region, border guards serve in one of the most challenging areas of Kyrgyzstan's border, facing harsh climatic conditions and high altitudes.
The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security is responsible for protecting the state borders at the junction with Kazakhstan and China. Here, border guards work under extreme conditions: strong winds and sharp temperature fluctuations, as well as hard-to-reach areas, require them to maintain outstanding physical fitness and professional skills.
Despite all the difficulties, the border guards ensure security around the clock and protect the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The photo report showcases the daily service at high altitudes and the people who stand guard over the country's safety every day.
