During the presentation of the new head of "Kyrgyzpharm," Bolot Junusov, Minister of Health Kanbek Dosmambetov elaborated on the problems faced by this institution. He pointed out systemic shortcomings in the organization’s work that are not related to a lack of funding or external factors, but rather stem from internal management errors.
According to the minister, among the main reasons for the inefficiency of "Kyrgyzpharm" are poor leadership, conflicts of interest, and the previous management's active involvement in deals with pharmaceutical companies. These factors, Dosmambetov emphasized, have been the primary reasons for failures in procurement and delays in deliveries, which negatively affected the availability of essential medications for hospitals and the population.
The minister noted that even with funding, the company's effectiveness was minimal, necessitating strict personnel measures. He emphasized that the new leader's independence from pharmaceutical companies was one of the main criteria for his appointment.
Bolot Junusov, the new director of "Kyrgyzpharm," as the minister noted, has no ties to industry companies and possesses experience in public service, international diplomacy, and crisis management. These qualities should help stabilize the institution's operations and restore its important role in the country's medication supply system.
